We launched our Glad^® to the Rescue campaign at the height of the garbage strike in July, 2009 in an effort to help Toronto make the best out of a stinky situation.

For eight days our Glad^® Clean-Up Crews hit 19 different communities in Toronto.

The Glad^® Bag Giveaway

Our crews handed out 25,000 garbage and recycling bags to the public in response to the City of Toronto’s request for residents to double-bag garbage and collect recycling in clear plastic bags.

Crews also handed out information and tips on how to manage garbage during the strike as well as provided coupons to save $1.00 off any GLAD^® Trash product.

Even though the strike lingered on for much longer than we all expected, we’re proud of the goodwill and cheer spread throughout the city by our Glad^® Clean-Up Crews.
